Kat Armas is a Cuban-American author, speaker, and theologian whose work explores how faith can resist systems of injustice and imagine more liberative ways of being. She holds a ThM from Vanderbilt Divinity School and a dual MDiv and MAT from Fuller Theological Seminary, where she received the Frederick Buechner Award for Excellence in Writing. Kat speaks and leads workshops at universities, churches, and organizations across the country, engaging the intersections of empire, decolonization, and the Bible. She is the author of Abuelita Faith, Sacred Belonging, and her most recent book, Liturgies for Resisting Empire.
On Sunday, May 17, we are honored to welcome her to St. Paul & St. Andrew. Kat will guest preach at our 11:00 AM worship service. Following the service, at 12:15 PM, she will join us for a moderated conversation on Liturgies for Resisting Empire, reflecting on how spiritual practice can ground movements for justice, nurture belonging, and help us reimagine faith beyond the logic of empire.
We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful conversation at the intersection of faith, justice, and collective liberation.
